About Us
From smart buildings to a full-stack service platform
Altus Labs, LLC began in Fort Collins, Colorado as a Multi-Dwelling-Unit Internet Management company. Over time we expanded into access control, smart building automation, residential internet and TV sales, security systems, CCTV, smart home devices, and home theater installations. After years of working with disconnected, poorly designed software tools that didn't reflect real field operations, we built the platform we needed ourselves — now known as the Caliber Platform.
Caliber Platform at a glance
What makes up the platform
Caliber was built by a company that actually performs field service work — so every module reflects real operational needs, not software-vendor assumptions.
Caliber Core
Business units, legal entities, branding, error logging, integration registry, phone validation, geocoding, contact relationships, and guided wizards.
Caliber Commerce
Proposals, contracts, invoices, payments, deposits, credit memos, purchase orders, subscriptions, and integration with Caliber Documents.
Caliber eSign
E-signature orchestration with embedded signing ceremonies, envelope management, and webhook processing — fully managed as a Caliber cloud service.
Caliber Documents
DOCX template engine with visual merge field designer and automatic PDF conversion — generate branded proposals, contracts, and invoices.
Caliber Partners & Compensation
Partner programs with ratebooks and remittances, compensation plans with pay statements, and service account management.
Caliber Projects & Field Service
Project phases, daily reports, field measurements, plus Field Service extensions with GPS capture, mobile LWCs, and status sync.
Why we built our own software
We spent years juggling MDU networks, access control systems, residential installations, and restoration work. Every tool we tried handled one small piece but failed the full lifecycle — from estimating to field work to invoicing. The Caliber Platform was created to solve the real, day-to-day challenges we experienced firsthand.
- 1
Fragmented tools slowed us down
Internet installs, access control, smart building systems, and restoration workflows each required different systems — none of which communicated.
- 2
Field service is relentlessly complex
Real jobs don't follow neat software rules. Pricing changes, scope changes, missing data, rushed scheduling — operations need flexibility and accuracy.
- 3
We needed both Salesforce and our own services
Salesforce provided the CRM backbone and automation. But document generation, e-signatures, file storage, and payment processing needed purpose-built cloud services — so we built them.
